Looking for the How
One of the biggest hindrances to progress is our desperate need to know how. We get faced with some need or challenge, we put our request out there, we visualize the outcome, we feel the feelings, but then we start considering the “how?”.
“Ok,” we say, “I believe that the universe can bring me this desired thing, but I just can’t see how.” With that statement come feelings of desperation, doubt, hopelessness. Then guess what happens next? You got it, exactly what we fear will happen.
Auto maker Henry Ford asked electrical genius Charlie Steinmetz to build the generators for his factory. One day the generators ground to a halt, and the repairmen couldn’t find the problem. So Ford called Steinmetz, who tinkered with the machines for a few hours and then threw the switch. The generators whirred to life—but Ford got a bill for $10,000 from Steinmetz. Flabbergasted, the rather tight fisted car maker inquired why the bill was so high. Steinmetz’s reply: For tinkering with the generators, $10. For knowing where to tinker, $9,990. Ford paid the bill.
The point is this, the universe know exactly how to bring your desires to you, so long as you allow it to do so. By getting yourself bogged down with the how, you actively begin resisting the universe. “I believe it will happen,” feels a lot better than, “I don’t know how,”. Your security must be in the source and not in the method. We use so many things in life without knowing how they work: computers, cars, TV’s etc. We simply expect them to work. You should have the same expectation of the universe. Don’t worry about how the law of attraction will work for you, just know that it will, and does. So next time you feel yourself getting bogged down with wanting to know how. Don’t. It’s a waste of time. How is on a need to know basis. And you don’t need to know.
